According to research studies, spending time in a forest or wooded area is good for your physical, mental and spiritual health.

For instance, a study published in the popular journal Environmental Health and Preventive Medicine found that people who had a walk in a forest on a regular basis had lower levels of cortisol (stress hormone) and blood pressure compared to those who walked in an urban environment. You don’t have to head to a distant forest to de-stress and reap many other benefits, any green space can work for you. However, make sure you follow the precaution given below. 1. Be Aware Of Your Surroundings Before you leave, make sure you let someone know where you are going. Staying safe should be your number one priority. 2. Protect Your Skin You need to get vitamin D, but you don’t want to take the risk of skin cancer. Therefore, make sure you apply some sunscreen before you get out in the sun. Based on the location, you should put on the right clothing, such as long sleeves and gloves. 3. Go For The Right Footwear Not using the right footwear may cause musculoskeletal pain. So, if you are going to walk or run, make sure you have the right pair of shoes or boots.

4. Stay Hydrated Before you leave, make sure you put a couple bottles of fresh water. While you are out there, monitor your pee. If it’s dark yellow, know that you need to drink more water.
