Why You Lose Friends as You Get Older

Have you ever wondered why your social circle keeps getting smaller as you grow up? Apparently this is normal, especially if you’re all going to different paths as you mature.

Believe it or not, having fewer friends is actually a great thing! It only means that you’re more willing to treasure genuine friendships rather than brushing shoulders with superficial ones. It’s more important to have sincere friends as you grow and face challenges together. Keeping in contact with fewer friends helps you trim down the toxic people away from your life. Let’s face it, you’re not getting any younger—life’s too short to be surrounded with people that can bring you down. At the same time, it’s much better to connect with people that you truly care about. As you deepen your friendships with your real friends, you’ll realize that it’s always comforting to know that you can rely on them whenever you need encouragement and help. Having sincere people around you makes it easier to have a positive outlook in life. Now that you’ve grown into a more matured individual, focus your energy on how to nurture your friendships more. Sometimes it’s better to just have a cup of coffee and spend precious time with your dear friends.
